Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Probably the best meal I had in my week in the South of France. I had the Squid Risotto and every bite was a blast of flavor. The price was amazing for the quality of the food & being recognized by Gault & Millau for 7 straight years shows why the food is so amazing. Make sure to visit I as it will be worth your Euro!!!"
"The restaurant is tucked away in an alley, the ambience was so nice!! The staff are so friendly & helpful. Made the overall dining experience rly pleasant. The mushroom sauce on the normandy chicken was super creamy without being too heavy. The sauce was a nice mix of umami and sweet! We really enjoyed it. The chicken was well cooked as well. The carbonara risotto was creamy yet light & the squid was fresh! Sweet and easy to bite into. The risotto was rather al dante— not mushy or starchy at all!! The beef stew’s meat was tender and the flavour profile of the stew’s wine was just nice— not overpowering or anything. The gnocchi was well cooked as well and was a nice addition to the stew. I quite enjoyed this. Would be perfect in cold weather. As a creme brulee lover, this was a decent creme brulee. The orange peels added a nice citrus taste with bitter after notes. The orange flavour was well-infused. It gave a nice balance to the overall super sweet dessert ."
"cute restaurant in the heart of old Nice with nice staff. Super nice to be seated outside. However, we ordered the Black Angus and it was super chewy. The pasta with prawns could have a bit more of flavour. Maybe try another options on your turn."
"We loved this place, the food was excellent and the service so friendly we were made to feel really welcome. Tucked down a small street so nice and quiet and away from the crowds highly recommended"
"The service was excellent. They also have an english menu. We wanted to try coq au vin from the pictures we had seen on the reviews, but it is from their old menu and they don't serve it anymore. The cod fish with aioli sause and steamed vegetables was very nice, although the cucumbers were an unnecessary edition and not delicious. The black angus steak with fries was also good. We were not asked how we would like it prepared and it came more on the raw side, so maybe ask in advance."
"Food very good food. They have menu offer during the day time. Frog legs were NOT good, but beef and octopus risotto were amazing"
"Quaint restaurant tucked in a alley crossroad in the old town of Nice. Service was attentive and just all round excellent, food was similarly excellent. We asked for the Nice specialties and was recommended the cod , and the beef stew w gnocchi, both were flavourful and perfectly done. Appetizer was frog legs which was done tempura style, which went well with the garlic dressing that it was served with. Their signature cocktail is a le Marcel which had vodka, champagne and raspberry liqueur- must try. Good dining experience, recommended."
"We were wanting some more home style French food and this bistro hit the spot! It’s tucked back in a corner of the old town that is less crowded which is how you know it’s going to be decent and not a tourist trap. We went back twice during our stay and none of the dishes disappointed!!"
